One of the cutest farms on this list, the União Farm (in Rio das Flores – Rio de Janeiro) is an example of a rural property of the coffee cycle.

But it’s not just a farm to visit: it’s an experience.

In order to educate visitors about that period in time and about the lifestyle and customs of the Brazilian colonial period, actors perform as coffee barons and also slaves.

The Tozan Farm – Popular coffee farm tour in Brazil

Near São Paulo capital, in Campinas, you can have a guided tour to the Fazenda Tozan, or ‘Tozan Farm’, also known as (Monte d’Este), a coffee plantation.

You will see beautiful coffee plantation landscapes, learn about the immigrants that came to São Paulo, the different cultures, stages of coffee production, historical facts associated with this activity, and much more.

Vista Alegre Farm – A place full of history

The Vista Alegre farm, located in Valença – Rio de Janeiro, is one of the most important of coffee farms of the XIX century.

Originally dedicated to growing coffee, music, theatrical arts and religion were also taught at Vista Alegre.

The first school in the country to teach children of slaves and poor children how to read and write was in the Vista Alegre farm.

Today, the Vista Alegre farm carries out guided historical tours with options that include snacks and lunch, lodging in the colonial headquarters, and social, cultural and corporate events.

Sítio São Luís – A unique and personal coffee farm experience 

In Brazilian Portuguese, a “Sítio” basically means a smaller farm, that still has a lot of its characteristics.

The Sítio São Luís is located about 60 miles from Fortaleza – Ceará, and is part of the “Green Coffee Route”, a route that shows sustainable coffee production.

You can visit the colonial mansion of Sítio São Luís, have direct contact with animals and enjoy a meal prepared on a wood stove for lunch or the classic Brazilian ‘café da tarde’, or afternoon coffee.

Sustainable Coffee Farms to Visit in Brazil

The century-old farms in the cities of Mulungu, Guaramiranga, Pacoti and Baturité produce their coffee plantations in a sustainable, artisanal and chemical-free way.

Guests can get to know this up close at Sítio Águas Finas, a property from 1939, which produces Café Uchôa.

Monte Bello Farm – Lovely coffee farm in the South

This beautiful farm is located in Ribeirão Claro – Paraná.  In addition to chalet accommodations, the farm offers tours of its facilities.

The farm, which was established nearly 90 years ago, covers 120 hectares and still has excellent facilities and equipment.

Casa Baldoni   – Guided immersive tour

Located in Santa Rita do Sapucaí – Minas Gerais, the ‘Casa Baldoni’, or ‘Baldoni House’ coffee farm offers an experience called “From Foot to Cup”, which provides an immersion into the world of specialty coffees.

The guided tour explains about the production processes, crop composition, species and existing varieties.

After walking around the property and getting to know the roast, comes the tasting of fresh coffee.
