DeLonghi Dinamica – Your Personal Barista

This all-in-one espresso maker throws down the gauntlet to the standard super automatic models.

First visually, then with powerful features.

DeLonghi Dinamica, model ECAM S35020W, has a non-standard look and a few tricks up the sleeve.

This model doesn’t have an automatic milk frother, but the other features make it a worthy adversary to Philips 3200.

Is Dinamica Delonghi’s Best Fully Automatic Espresso Machine?

DeLonghi is a giant in the world of coffee and has numerous top-class coffee machines.

I chose DeLonghi Dinamica for this comparison because it is roughly similar in size and features as Phillips 3200 LatteGo.

After reading this guide, you will have enough info to decide if it is the best machine for your needs.

Philips LatteGo 3200 – The Master Of The Milk

One look at this sleek coffee maker filled with features, and you will fall in love.

Philips LatteGo 3200 is made with one purpose – to make the best coffee with the least effort.

The Phillips 3200 series takes pride in simplifying coffee making, and this model is the best specimen.

More About Philips 3200 Series

Although the 4300 and 5400 series offer more features, the 3200 is still one of the best value-for-money purchases for your home coffee corner.

LatteGo is the only 3200 model with automatic milk frothing. It also has the most extensive drink menu in the series.

How To Pick The Best Fully Automatic Coffee Machine

All coffee machines are different, no doubt about that.

However, they all have the same core parts, which helps compare them. The comparison used here is normative for every superautomatic espresso maker.

The Capacities

Most super automatics on this budget level come with similar measures. Both of these models come  with very similar sized water tank.

As for hopper capacity, Dinamica can hold about an ounce more beans. Not a big difference here.

Dinamica also can hold a very tiny bit more used grounds.

Grinder Type And Options

Phillips LatteGo comes with a ceramic grinder, a feature often reserved only for big-budget models.

It is a flat burr grinder, and its twelve settings are rare at this budget level. This grinder will produce more noise than usual, but the grind quality is top.

Well, 12 is still less than 13, and that’s the number of grind settings available in the Dinamica model.

This model has a stainless steel conical burr grinder. The recommended settings are at level 5, but you can adjust them to your liking.

Both models also have a bypass feature, so you can occasionally try different beans or use pre-ground coffee.

Milk Frothing

Phillips LatteGo comes with an innovative milk-heating system.

You fill the removable carafe with milk of your choice, attach it to the machine, and magic will happen.

Mixing milk and air at an insanely high speed will get you perfectly steamed milk with a rich foam layer.

Dinamica comes with a classical steam wand for manual milk frothing.

If you are a beginner, you’ll need some practice that will quickly pay off, as you will be able to take control of frothing, recipes, and latte art.

The LatteGo system simplifies making lattes and cappuccinos, which is life-saving if you are in a rush.

The steam wand is something experienced users will value more.

Drink Menu

Let’s see what we can make with these models.

Using Dinamica, you can make coffee and espresso.

You can also use the Over Ice feature, which brews coffee using lower temperatures and more beans to maximize the taste.

Of course, you can make all sorts of drinks using hot water and a steam wand.

LatteGo 3200 offers espresso, Americano, and regular coffee.

Thanks to automatic milk frothing, you can also make cappuccino and latte macchiato with one touch of the button.

Display Panel

In general, both models are simple to use.

Dinamica has a slightly unusual vertical interface shape, but the soft buttons are self-explanatory.

You have four buttons for coffee, one for steam, and one for hot water. You can also set the aroma level or use the bypass option.

Phillips chose a standard vertical control panel. The left side is for drinks and hot water.

When you pick your drink, use the right side of the menu to adjust the volume of beans used, the amount of coffee you’ll get, and the amount of milk in your latte or cappuccino.

DeLonghi VS Phillips: What’s Your Choice?

To sum it up:

DeLonghi Dinamica will heat up a bit quicker, comes with the Over Ice feature, and has 13 grinder settings. The modern design also helps.

Philips LatteGo 3200 will make you milky drinks without any effort, thanks to the LatteGo system. A simple user interface and ceramic grinders are what sets this model apart.

The only dilemma here is: do you like to froth the milk with a steam wand, or do you prefer automatization?
