In this blog post, Leane Tilley answers the question “what happens if you drink matcha every day?”

The answers are based on personal experience and research studies published in reputable journals.

What I found most interesting is the fact that when you drink matcha every day, you’ll have glowing and radiant skin!

Leane mentions that matcha is loaded with Vitamin C that’s sufficient to keep your skin rejuvenated, glowing and soft!

Japanese Green Tea Blog Post

Are you wondering how to make matcha tea at home?

Kei Nishida, a Japanese tea aficionado and founder of the Japanese Green Tea Company shares an excellent step-by-step guide with a ton of inviting photos and clear formatting. Love it!

Start by straining the matcha powder into a bowl. Add water (or milk, as desired) and stir vigorously using a bamboo whisky.

The powder will dissolve and you’ll have a frothy drink.

Pour the drink into a tea cup/container.

Scoop the froth and fluff on the topmost sections of the cup using a bamboo spoon. Spread it equally then add sugar, honey or any other additive you desire.

For that perfect, yummy look, garnish your cup and sprinkle the matcha on top of the froth.

Then, enjoy your matcha tea!

The Best Time for Matcha Tea?

Nicholas Noble from matcha.com tells us the best time to drink matcha tea.

If you’re going to the gym, or just for an ordinary work out, have a cup of matcha half-an-hour earlier.

For better sleep, instead of having an afternoon cup of coffee, sip on matcha tea!

If you’re working on the computer, a cup of matcha 30 minutes earlier will give you that relaxed-but-focused effect.

Did you know that not all matcha teas are the same?

Nicholas’ blog post refers to a 2018 study that tested 67 different samples of matcha tea.

They found that only one had significant blood pressure-lowering and stress-reducing properties.

How Matcha Tea Increases Your Productivity

Elara Hadjipateras has a very interesting post explaining how matcha works to improve productivity.

As we’ve mentioned earlier, matcha keeps us active throughout the day. But why?

Matcha is the most natural concentrated source of L-theanine.
L-theanine is the amino acid that lowers blood pressure, increases focus, reduces anxiety and stress and also helps us sleep better.

That’s according to scientific research studies mentioned in the post.

Elara further identifies a set of studies to prove that the L-theanine in matcha reduces stress and improves mood.

Matcha Tea Can Keep You Younger for Longer

According to health coach Laura Kraber, a cup of matcha a day keeps aging away.

Laura attributes the anti-aging properties to the fact that matcha is an antioxidant powerhouse – specifically the epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) antioxidant.

EGCG prevents cell degeneration, which keeps premature aging away.

A mind-blowing fact from Laura’s post:

A single cup of matcha has the same amount of antioxidants as 10 cups of ordinary green tea!

I also loved Laura’s recipe for green tea avocado popsicles!

Simply blend a ripe avocado, add matcha powder, coconut crystals, coconut milk and ground vanilla bean. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds and freeze.

How Matcha Tea Improves Your Health

Rachel Link, a registered dietician, tells us about the different ways matcha tea boosts our health.

One of the benefits that I found most interesting is that matcha tea has over 130 times more natural antioxidants – catechins – than any other type of tea!

Did you know that matcha tea also helps you lose weight?

Rachel highlights several studies that have proved that matcha tea increases metabolism, and by extension, weight loss.

Rachel identifies other benefits such as better heart health, cancer prevention, improved brain function and the fact that this amazing Japanese green tea keeps the liver healthy!

The Matcha High!

Madison Dipboye has a very interesting blog post on “The Matcha High”.

The post compares the caffeine boost from regular coffee and that from matcha tea.

According to Madison, matcha tea gives you the same energy boost as coffee, but now without the unsettling jitters and impending caffeine crash that comes with coffee.

Apparently, the caffeine in coffee gets into the bloodstream very quickly, compared to matcha’s caffeine that gets absorbed gradually.

Add that dash of L-theanine in matcha tea and you’ll feel happy, relaxed and alert longer.

Madison also tells us that matcha gives us a fresh breath, even after chewing on onion or garlic. Have you tried this?

Matcha Tea Makes You Smarter

There’s a very insightful MDPI study on matcha tea. It’s a study conducted by researchers from the Department of Integrated Biosciences in the University of Tokyo.

The post provides the results of a study on how matcha affects cognitive functions among the elderly.

The participants were all seniors living in elder care homes and communities. They were served with daily matcha green tea powder supplements.

The researchers then assessed changes in the seniors’ cognitive functions.

The results were amazing!

There was a very significant positive change among women.
